"Heavenly Father,

As I await its arrival, I ask you to prepare my spirit. Help me to dedicate a specific time each day to meet with you, turning my good intentions into a lasting, life-giving habit. Guard that time from distraction and complacency.
Holy Spirit, open my eyes to the revelation on every page. Give me ears to hear your voice, not just through the words, but in how those words apply to my life and to the life of the person I am praying for.
